Ted Reynolds, CAA, the Activities Director at Canyon Ridge High School, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 NFHS Citation. Presented by the National Federation of State High School Associations, this honor recognizes his outstanding contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state, and national levels.

Ted Reynolds

With 22 years of experience as an athletic administrator in Idaho, Reynolds has demonstrated leadership and dedication. At the national level, he has served as Section 8 chair for the National Initiative and Assistance Network and as a four-time Idaho delegate to the National Athletic Directors Conference. In Idaho, his roles include chairing the state athletic directors conference, serving as an executive board member for the Idaho Athletic Administrators Association (IAAA), and representing athletic directors on the Idaho High School Activities Association Board of Directors. He currently serves as the athletic director representative on the Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) Board of Directors – with two previous years spent as Third District Coaches Association representative – and is also a member of the IHSAA’s Eligibility Committee #1, Eligibility Appeal Committee #2, Hall of Fame Committee, Representation Committee and State Tournament Committee.

For these efforts, Reynolds earned the Idaho State Award of Merit in 2016, along with two Distinguished Service Awards and four Citation Awards from the IAAA, three Idaho State 4A Athletic Director of the Year honors, three Idaho Coaches Association Athletic Director of the Year awards, and two North Idaho Officials Association Athletic Director of the Year distinctions.

Reynolds has also managed more than 20 IHSAA state tournaments and has previously been an athletic director president for the Intermountain League (2009-11), Southern Idaho Conference (2016-18) and Great Basin Conference (2018-20).

"Ted Reynolds exemplifies the dedication and leadership we strive for in the Twin Falls School District," said Dr. Brady Dickinson, Superintendent of Twin Falls School District. "His unwavering commitment to our students, his passion for fostering growth through athletics, and his impact on both our community and beyond make this recognition well-deserved. We are incredibly proud to have Ted as part of our team and congratulate him on this outstanding achievement."

“I have been fortunate to work with many wonderful coaches and have gotten to know many wonderful students over my career,” said Reynolds. “When I am able to remember that what I do is all about the student-athletes and coaches, it is easy to come to work. I hope I have had as positive impact on them as they have had on me. Every day truly can be a holiday!”

This award highlights Reynolds’ tireless efforts to enhance student experiences and strengthen athletic programs. He will be recognized at the 55th annual National Athletic Directors Conference in Austin, Texas, on December 16, 2024.
