Welcome to Family and Consumer Sciences! I am Mrs. Franklin! This year, I am teaching Parenting & Child Development and Early Childhood Professions, Teen Living and Foods & Nutrition. I love teaching Family and Consumer Sciences classes and getting students involved in hands-on learning.
My Family and Consumer Sciences journey began in High School when, as a student, I took a Foods class that created my passion for all these Family Consumer Science. I have a BS degree in Family Consumer Science Education and Elementary Education with a minor in Library Science.
This is my thirteenth year as a FCS teacher. My husband (Sam Franklin) are both teachers here at the Ridge. Growing up in Alaska taught me to be creative and resourceful. Therefore, I cannot wait to challenge and inspire this year’s class of FCS students. I am lifelong learner, and it my goal to is constantly challenging myself to improve student learning, keep students motivated and engaged and make learning a lifelong enjoyment. I want all students to be successful, and I feel that I offer a classroom environment that is conducive to success.

Double majored in Biology and Secondary Education from Idaho State University. Lettered at ISU in Track and Field competing in the Decathlon. Twin Falls native, but raised in Aberdeen Idaho.


Before Canyon Ridge, I taught in Shoshone for six years and coached boys soccer in Bliss for two. My wife works at Rock Creek teaching kindergarten, and our daughter, Lucy, is five months old.

This is my third year teaching business. I have been in the business world since 1994. I have been a licensed Realtor since 2003. I have worked in a real estate office as an executive administrative assistant since 1998. Other business fields I have experience with include legal secretary, retail/merchandising, hotel front desk, fast food management, owning private companies, data entry for the USPS, running a nonprofit corporation, human resources and many advisory boards for various causes. I am married and we have two daughters who are actively pursuing college degrees. My goal is to make a difference in the lives of our students and show them skills that they need to succeed in life. I currently teach courses such as: Microsoft Office, Personal Finance, Business Management and Business Law & Ethics.


I’m a Capricorn, whatever that means. Someday, I want to own a skunk.

This is Mr. Isaacs’ seventh year teaching Theatre and Speech at CRHS. He got his Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Speech Education with a minor in Russian Education from BYU – Idaho. Mr. Isaacs is very passionate about theatre and enjoys sharing that passion with his talented students.

I was born in raised here in Twin Falls ID. I love this community and enjoy being a part of the Riverhawk family! This is my 5th year at CRHS and before that I taught 2 years at a charter school in Gooding ID. I have a Bachelor’s degree from ISU and a Master’s from U of I. I am a girls basketball coach here at the Ridge and love to be involved with many sports and activities. My wife and I have been married for 8 years and have a 3 year old daughter and 1 year old twins!! Yes we are busy!

I have taught Biology for the past ten years in the TFSD after twenty years working in the health care field and private research as a microbiologist. I attended and graduated from the University of Idaho where I met my husband. We have raised four children, living and working in the Magic Valley for thirty plus years. Teaching is the most demanding yet rewarding career I have ever had.

This is my 6th year at Canyon Ridge High School. I spent time at 3 High Schools and 2 Middle Schools in Utah before coming to Idaho. I have a son Hamilton who 2 years from Canyon Ridge who attends the University of Chicago. I have a son and daughter who will be graduating this year from Twin Falls and Canyon Ridge. My wife teaches at Oregon Trail Elementary School. I assist with the Boys Basketball team and really enjoy sports. Originally from Boston, MA and love all Boston sports teams.

Mrs. Munoz holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Idaho State University, an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement from San Diego University, and a Master of Education degree with an emphasis on literacy from Northwest Nazarene University. She has worked in education for the past 24+ years, and she currently teaches U.S. History at Canyon Ridge High School. She is also an active member of the Idaho Core Coaching Network and the Idaho Association of Bilingual Education.

I am Sue Nelson and I have been teaching math for over 25 years. Thirteen years in Roswell, NM, 6 years at Twin Falls High, and started at Canyon Ridge High when it opened in 2009. I am from Wyoming, by way of Kansas. I attended Eastern New Mexico University (go Greyhounds) in Portales, New Mexico and graduated in 1990 with a Bachelors of Science – Honors in Mathematics.
I was born a Jayhawker, but have been a Viking, a Wrangler, a Greyhound, a Coyote, a Bruin, and finally a Riverhawk. My proudest time has been here at CRHS and being a Riverhawk!

Kristy is originally from Seattle, WA. She and her husband have been part of Twin Falls for 20 years, raising 3 children. Kristy has taught for 21 years and is happy to be a part of the district in which she lives.

I was raised and attended school in Green River, Wyoming. In 1989, I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor of science degree in secondary science education. I have been teaching science for 28 years. Previously, I taught at Jackpot Combined School for twenty five years, followed by a year at Jerome Middle School. This is my 4th year at Canyon Ridge High School. I have been married for 31 years to my wife, Cindy Oneida, who is a teacher. We have two sons, Skyler Oneida and Elias Oneida, whom both attend CRHS. I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and watching my sons play football and baseball.

I am Miranda Ostrowski and I began teaching for Canyon Ridge in 2017. My family and I are new to Idaho as we just moved here in 2016. I am teaching Biology.

This is Dr. Teske’s eighth year as principal of Canyon Ridge High School. Before his tenure at the Ridge, he served as principal of Robert Stuart Middle School and Oregon Trail Elementary School. He has 16 years of experience as a school leader.

Father of 6 children. Left Fort Worth Texas and ended up in Twin Falls. Eagle Scout. Undisputed Champion at cow patty chucking.

Mrs. Thomsen received her bachelor of music in music education from Boise State University. She is a Twin Falls native, and grew up playing soccer, softball, basketball, and danced for 13 years. At BSU, she joined the marching band and earned the position of Blue Thunder Drum Major for the 2012-2013 season. Mrs. Thomsen is a currently member of the Magic Valley Symphony and was just elected the Music Director for the Twin Falls Municipal Band. “Do what you love, and love what you do. My name is Darren Van Hofwegen. I have been teaching and coaching for 11 years throughout the state of Idaho. I am married, Angela, and together we have 3 very active kids. Bailey (10), Zeke (8) and Asher (6). I am a graduate of Boise State University. I am currently the boys basketball coach at Canyon Ridge. Love working with these young and talented athletes at Canyon Ridge! Go Hawks!

Married to Chrissy for 13 years. One child, Christian 9. Coaches Football and Softball. Has been teaching at Canyon Ridge for 3 years.

Mrs. Weatherford has lived in the Magic Valley since the age of 3. She attended and graduated from Twin Falls High School and attended the College of Southern Idaho and Boise State University. She was a Paraprofessional for 17 years before making her move into the office. She lives in Twin Falls with her husband Terry, has three beautiful daughters Leia (Chad), Allysha, Cassidy and three beautiful grandchildren Bexlee, Thayer and Holland.

I have an amazing husband and four wonderful children. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Math Education from Brigham Young University. My Master’s degree in Counseling and Educational psychology was earned at University of Nevada Reno. I’m a morning person, my favorite number is 42, I’ve been bungee jumping, and I only have one kidney.

Born in South Korea, I have also lived in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York City. After my undergraduate studies at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, I completed my Masters in Science Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. I also had the opportunity to research volcanic eruptions and their impact on global climate as a graduate intern at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City. At Canyon Ridge High School, I hope to enhance my investment as a STEM educator with other teachers, learners, and educational researchers!

I’m originally from eastern Washington. I attended Eastern Washington University, and then graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I started teaching at Twin Falls High School in 2007, and then came to Canyon Ridge the first year it opened. There aren’t many of us left that have been here since the beginning.
