I am one of the original Canyon Ridge River Hawks moving to CRHS on day one 2009 from Robert Stuart Junior High. It is my pleasure to teach a variety of business classes in our Career and Technical Education Department. Having spent 23 years in industry before following my dream to teach I feel I bring a variety of perspectives to the classroom. My goal is to help all students discover their passion and turn it into a career.
Mrs. Buckley is an English teacher who has been at Canyon Ridge High School since 2009. She graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor’s in English Secondary Education and studied drama along with Creative Writing.
Tona Casella resides in Twin Falls with her amazing daughter and husband. She has a passion for education, having worked as a college math and college psychology teacher, student advisor and advanced opportunities coordinator in the past. Tona’s business career included major employers in industry including ATT, Capital One, Sears National Bank and Citibank. Tona follows her passions teaching theater, dance and yoga in the community. She enjoys baking rainbow cookies, spending time outdoors with her family, and reading a good book.
I’m an Idaho Native – born, raised and graduated in Twin Falls County. I’ve been married for 38 years, have 3 married daughters and 9 grandchildren.
I worked in the professional field for 18 years and look forward to assisting students with college and career readiness.
Welcome to Family and Consumer Sciences! I am Mrs. Franklin! This year, I am teaching Parenting & Child Development and Early Childhood Professions, Teen Living and Foods & Nutrition. I love teaching Family and Consumer Sciences classes and getting students involved in hands-on learning.
My Family and Consumer Sciences journey began in High School when, as a student, I took a Foods class that created my passion for all these Family Consumer Science. I have a BS degree in Family Consumer Science Education and Elementary Education with a minor in Library Science.
This is my thirteenth year as a FCS teacher. My husband (Sam Franklin) are both teachers here at the Ridge. Growing up in Alaska taught me to be creative and resourceful. Therefore, I cannot wait to challenge and inspire this year’s class of FCS students. I am lifelong learner, and it my goal to is constantly challenging myself to improve student learning, keep students motivated and engaged and make learning a lifelong enjoyment. I want all students to be successful, and I feel that I offer a classroom environment that is conducive to success.

Jon Goss, Bachelors in Economics, Masters in Economics, and Administration Degree
I received my Bachelors degree in economics from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. I then earned my Masters degree in economics education from Boise State and received a degree in administration from the University of Idaho. I have been teaching in Idaho for 20 years as a social studies, math and Principal. I also am the JV girls soccer coach.
I taught math at the high school level for 6 years from 2002-2008 when I stepped away from teaching to be a college volleyball coach for the past 10 years. I am stepping back into the high school setting after a long time away, but I am very excited to meet the students and work with them in the classroom setting. I will also be the varsity assistant coach for volleyball here at Canyon Ridge. Go Hawks!
Mrs. Isaacs longs to see every student attain their dream, whether it be going to college, a university, tech school, the military, teaching English in a foreign country, joining the circus, or studying in Paris to become a mime. Whatever your dream, she’ll help you find the path to achieve it! Mrs. Isaacs has been to college, a university, tech school, taught English abroad, but has not studied to become a mime.
Devin Johns (Spanish). This is my 4th year at CRHS and before that I taught 2 years at a charter school in Gooding ID. I have a Bachelor’s degree from ISU and a Master’s from U of I. I am a girls basketball coach here at the Ridge and love to be involved with many sports and activities. My wife and I have been married for 7 years and have a 2 year old daughter and newborn twins!! Yes we are busy!

Mrs. Munoz holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Idaho State University, an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement from San Diego University, and a Master of Education degree with an emphasis on literacy from Northwest Nazarene University. She has worked in education for the past 24+ years, and she currently teaches U.S. History at Canyon Ridge High School. She is also an active member of the Idaho Core Coaching Network and the Idaho Association of Bilingual Education.
I am Sue Nelson and I have been teaching math for over 25 years. Thirteen years in Roswell, NM, 6 years at Twin Falls High, and started at Canyon Ridge High when it opened in 2009. I am from Wyoming, by way of Kansas. I attended Eastern New Mexico University (go Greyhounds) in Portales, New Mexico and graduated in 1990 with a Bachelors of Science – Honors in Mathematics.
I was born a Jayhawker, but have been a Viking, a Wrangler, a Greyhound, a Coyote, a Bruin, and finally a Riverhawk. My proudest time has been here at CRHS and being a Riverhawk!
This is Dr. Teske’s fifth year as principal of Canyon Ridge High School. Before his tenure at the Ridge, he served as principal of Robert Stuart Middle School and Oregon Trail Elementary School. This is his 20th year as a Twin Falls School District educator.
Mrs. Thomsen received her bachelor of music in music education from Boise State University. She is a Twin Falls native, and grew up playing soccer, softball, basketball, and danced for 13 years. At BSU, she joined the marching band and earned the position of Blue Thunder Drum Major for the 2012-2013 season. Mrs. Thomsen is a currently member of the Magic Valley Symphony and was just elected the Music Director for the Twin Falls Municipal Band. “Do what you love, and love what you do. My name is Darren Van Hofwegen. I have been teaching and coaching for 10 years throughout the state of Idaho. I am married, Angela, and together we have 3 very active kids. Bailey (9), Zeke (8) and Asher (5). I am a graduate of Boise State University. I am currently the boys basketball coach at Canyon Ridge. Love working with these young and talented athletes at Canyon Ridge! Go Hawks!
Mrs. Weatherford has lived in the Magic Valley since the age of 3. She attended and graduated from Twin Falls High School and attended the College of Southern Idaho and Boise State University. She was a Paraprofessional for 17 years before making her move into the office. She lives in Twin Falls with her husband Terry, has three beautiful daughters Leia (Chad), Allysha, Cassidy and three beautiful grandchildren Bexlee, Thayer and Holland.
