New Principal Hired for O’Leary Middle School

The Twin Falls School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Ace Marcellus as the new principal at O’Leary Middle School. The new administrative hire was approved at a special board meeting Thursday, June 29, 2017.

Marcellus has worked in the Twin Falls School District for the past 20 years, serving as the associate principal of Robert Stuart Middle School from 2013 to present, instructional coach for O’Leary Middle School, and seventh-grade life science teacher at O’Leary Middle School for 16 years. Marcellus started his teaching career in Silver Lake, Oregon, in the North Lake School District where he taught seventh through twelfth-grade science and a physical education class.

Marcellus received his Bachelor’s Degree in biology and secondary education certification from Boise State University, his Master’s Degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Idaho, and his Educational Specialist Degree in educational leadership from Northwest Nazarene University. During the 2009-10 school year, Marcellus was awarded the State of Idaho Middle Level Educator of the Year award from the Idaho Middle Level Association. Marcellus is a Twin Falls High School Alumni.

“I’m excited to return to the O’Leary team to work with the dedicated and incredible staff as they create the synergy needed to realize the goals and aspirations of the students, staff, parents, and community.” said Marcellus.

The OMS principal position came open this spring after former principal Keelie Campbell took a district level position with a neighboring district.
